Refund Policy

1. 30-day money-back guarantee

We want you to enjoy Folio. Every new paid subscription — First Officer or Captain, monthly or yearly — comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee. If Folio isn’t working for you, email us within 30 days of your first charge and we’ll refund the full amount. No questions asked.

2. Free trial (3 days)

Paid tiers start with a 3-day free trial, no card required. You’re not charged during the trial. Cancel anytime before the trial ends at zero cost — no refund needed because no payment was taken.

3. What the 30-day guarantee covers

The guarantee applies to the first payment on any paid subscription:

  • Your first monthly payment on First Officer or Captain
  • Your first yearly payment on First Officer or Captain

Refund window: 30 days from the charge date. You don’t have to give a reason, though we always appreciate knowing what went wrong so we can improve.

4. Renewals

Renewals are not covered by the 30-day guarantee. Paddle (our payment processor) sends a renewal reminder email 7 days before every renewal, so you always have time to cancel if you no longer want to continue. If you miss the reminder and get charged for a renewal, email us within 14 days of the charge and we’ll review it case-by-case — we’re reasonable about this.

5. Community tier

The Community tier is free, runs locally on your PC, and involves no payment. No refund applies.

6. Billing errors

If you’re charged the wrong amount, charged twice, or charged for a subscription you didn’t intend to start, email us with the Paddle order ID from your receipt and we’ll refund the error — no 30-day limit applies, because billing mistakes aren’t something you should have to time.

7. How to request a refund

Email support@flyfolio.co from the address on your Folio account. Include:

  • Your Paddle order / transaction ID (from your receipt email)
  • The tier (First Officer or Captain) and billing period (monthly or yearly)

We respond within 3 business days. Approved refunds are processed by Paddle back to the original payment method and typically arrive within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank.

8. Chargebacks

Please contact us before filing a chargeback with your bank or card issuer — we can almost always resolve the issue faster and without fees. Chargebacks filed without prior contact may result in account suspension and forfeiture of any remaining subscription term.

9. VAT and taxes

Billing is handled by Paddle as Merchant of Record. Paddle charges VAT or sales tax based on your billing location and remits it to the relevant authorities. Refunds are issued net of any tax that Paddle is able to reclaim in your jurisdiction.

10. Governing law & local consumer rights

This policy is governed by the laws of Spain and applicable EU consumer protection law. If you reside in the EU, the UK, or any jurisdiction whose mandatory consumer-protection rules are stronger than this policy (for example, the EU 14-day right of withdrawal under Directive 2011/83/EU), those local rights apply in full and nothing in this policy waives them.
